An incredible combination of musicians is behind one of the most intense records featured in our sessions: Alvin Jones and Charnett Moffett, drums and bass, provide a tight substrate for Sharrock’s ultra-hard and yet melodic guitar; Sanders’ overblows blend perfectly with the hard shredding guitar. An intense, rockin’, dense, and yet spiritually uplifting recording; a fusion of rock sensibility with modal composition, “Ask the Ages” elevated Sharrock to the Olymp of players that reached for infinity as John Coltrane did.
