Cassie Kinoshi’s seed – Gratitude (IARC – 2024)

A Listening Session in presence of the Artist followed by an artist talk, moderated by journalist @melfidaniellllll (@20seconds_mag ) after the session.

When our brother @jawfamily put us in touch with the good people of @internationalanthem to host a listening session of Cassie Kinoshi’s last effort on their label we were super hyped and grateful about the opportunity. A deep listening of “Gratitude” on the Altecs is a dream. These compositions for a large ensemble are super rich. A great enjoyment with our sound system capable of transcribing all these details!

In March of 2023, Mercury Prize nominated composer & alto saxophonist Cassie Kinoshi premiered a commissioned suite of music in front of a sold out crowd at London’s Southbank Centre. She wrote the piece–gratitude–for her flagship large ensemble seed., in a special augmented formation that also featured turntablist NikNak and the London Contemporary Orchestra.
