Really excited to welcome Szabolcs Bognár aka @abase_music for our next listening session at @rhinoceros.berlin this coming Monday.
One of the most prolific personalities of a new Berlin live music scene, the Hungarian keyboardist, producer, DJ and founder of @oshurecords will share his love for this beautiful album by Hungarian pianist and educator János Gonda.
Sámánének (translated into Shaman Songs) is rooted in ancient Hungarian tribal and folk songs, blending these influences with contemporary / modal jazz, avant-garde and afro-latin elements. Before listening to this special album in silence together, Szabi will detail how this music is not only linked to his musical upbringing in Hungary, but also aligning with his current artistic research and interests, with his band Àbáse and other projects.
